Please note Lubbock Power and Light (LP&L) is the city department that maintains the electrical infrastructure for the City of Lubbock. They no longer bill citizens for electric service, if you live in the LP&L services area you will need to select an Electric Retail Provider which you can identify at the Power to Choose link provided below.
Providers will vary based on service area. Always verify before signing up for services.

Things to Know
City of Lubbock Watering Days:
- Irrigate landscape only during two assigned days per week year-round
- Irrigation schedules are based on the last digit of the house address:
- Addresses ending in 0, 3, 4, or 9 – Monday and Thursday
- Addresses ending in 1, 5, or 6 - Tuesday and Friday
- Addresses ending in 2, 7, or 8 – Wednesday & Saturday
- On your scheduled watering days, irrigation is allowed from midnight to 10:00 a.m. andfrom 6:00 p.m. to midnight.
City of Lubbock Garbage Pickup Days:
- The Solid Waste Department typically collects commercial and residential dumpsterstwice per week on Monday/Thursday, or Tuesday/Friday. During periods of bad weather,high winds, rain or holidays, collection frequency may be reduced.

You will need to provide a driver’s license showing you are a Lubbock resident or a driver’s license and utility bill with your address.
